New Journaling Bible ....HCSB!!!

ESV was not my favorite version so I was excited to hear that there are new versions in the Journaling Bibles.  So here's my first decorated page in my new bible.  Although it's not my first marked on page.  I felt lead to go highlight Isaiah 6:5 as this is something I need to be working on.

Here are some pictures of my first decorated page.,  This is also my first time ever doing a process video so you will have to let me know if you like that!
You can check out the video and subscribe ----> here

I used several different alpha stamps. Heidi Swapp Plastic letters, Heidi Swapp colorshine spray (pink), micron pen 03, StaZon ink (black, teal, and hot pink), white gel pen, platinum zig writer, craft smart acrylic paint, Simple Stories alphas, Artist's Loft Pan Watercolor tray, and Sakura Waterbrush.

Watercolor Worship

Two new pieces I have been working on.  My main focus has been to doodle black and white images, but I've been dying to use the Artist's Loft cheap-ie tray of pan watercolors I got. You know.... the one everyone is using.  So I had some extra fun and water-colored both doodles.  May be using these for stamps in the future.  Anyways.  Give me a thumbs up, or share if you like :)

Relaxing

...& pulling out an old favorite <3

This baby has been in the works since the beginning of last winter.  Although, I haven't worked on it since gardening season started.  I thought I would pull it out and work on it tonight.  I'm going to have to find the blue for the words in store somewhere because I'm actually doubling up on what I'm supposed to be using.  So far I have the top left corner done, half of the bottom left corner, and pretty much only the words you see there. :)

Relaxing.... :)

Something New: Studio Worship

Something new.  I'm learning to create digital files from my own hand lettering.  My goal is to create stamps and stickers from my work.  Since my work will be mainly used for bible journaling, I have named the "business" studio worship.  I am so new to Adobe Illustrator, so its taking me longer than I hoped, but I am learning!  If there is anyone out there with their own line of stamps and you wouldn't mind me asking you questions please comment :)

New Study: He Speaks to Me

New study starting!!!  I am always excited when I get a new study.  Its so fun to open the new book and fill the pages with different colored inks.  Copying bible verses and adding stars and such.
"He Speaks to Me" is by Priscilla Shirer.  She is an amazing teacher!  The study is about positioning ourselves to hear from God.  Priscilla focuses on Samuel, and his encounter with God when he was just a boy.  This study will also give me lots of great ideas for my journaling bible.

If any of you are in my area please come to our meeting on Tuesday night @ 6pm.

Blessings <3

Bible Journaling Toolbox

I came along this toolbox after finding in the trash.  My dad had cleaned the garage and tossed it, and I saw great potential.  The only downfall is that it is super heavy.  Maybe one day I'll get a newer one, but I'm liking this one for now.  I painted the outside with wall paint and sprayed the tray and inside with workable fixative, just a a sealant.  Once it was dry I started adding my supplies. :)

The tray holds the little items that I use a lot.  Tiny attacher, acrylic block, alpha stamps, inks, dot runner, glue stuck, inks, paint brushes, pitt and micron pens, water brushes, pencil, and eraser.  Also, two small cups of banners, tags, and other little bits of ephemera.

The bottum holds paints (acrylic and watercolor), sprays, more stamps (in CD cases), stickers, alphas, derwent inktense pencils.  If you are ever considering what "watercolor pencils" to purchase, these are BY FAR the best pencils I have used.  More stickers, more alphas, more stamps (alphas)....and stencils.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my new toolbox :)

Garden Garden Garden

This is my FAVORITE time of year. I love planting seeds, caring for them, and watching with excitement as they begin to grow and over time get bigger and bigger.  My little kale plants are the biggest of the seeds I have started this year.  They are so cute.

Garden #1

 Garden #2

Garden #3

Garden #4

 Indoor Spices

Indoor/Outdoor Cat. :)

So far this year I have planted: corn, watermelon, green squash, tomatoes, cucumber, kale, romaine lettuce, spinach, broccoli, broccoli raab, onions, bunching onion grass, parsley, sage, cilantro, rosemary, lavender, cantelope, peas, carrots, garden beans, sweet banana peppers, variety peppers, strawberries (actually from last year), and pumpkin.

That's a lot!  I started only planting so many of each kind so I can keep planting seeds every few weeks.  I also plan on learning how to can and make sauces and such.  Love!!

I'm back :)

Hey everybody.  Thank you so much for following me, and I am sorry I have been MIA for a while.  I have been on a new venture in life....and it's called getting rid of my belly fat and having fun while doing it ;).  So I joined beach body as a coach, which has been an amazing and life changing experience.  The people I work with are sooooo awesome and positive.  There are people left and right quitting their full time jobs.  And even though I do not have a full time job I am excited about what the future holds.  I have, of course, been continuing with creating things.  I smashbook, I project life, I paint, I mixed media, I love crafting!

Be blessed, Amber Horn

City On a Hill SOLD!

I have never created with the intent of selling my work but I was invited to show two pieces at Brush Strokes Gallery.  I went through my stash and picked two that I liked (City and Prince of Peace).  City sold!  I was so excited when I heard.  They called and asked me to bring another piece for its spot.  I grabbed the cross off my wall and hung it at the gallery.  This was so super exciting for me because I have never felt like I'm good enough to even be in a gallery let alone sell one of my pieces.  God is good!  I also got comments on sharing my faith in my work, which was very uplifting.

The piece that sold:

of course I had it framed, but I never got a picture of it in the gallery.
